How to reduce carbon emissions one woman at a time

1millWe all know that what we buy has a big impact on our planet.  So my fellow Señoritas, given that women make on average up to 85% of the household purchasing decisions, it seems we have a big responsibility on our shoulders.

It’s not always easy to know what we can do to really help, so if you’re looking for some inspiration on how to tackle climate change in particular then check out the 1 Million Women Campaign.

It has over 152,000 daughters, mothers, sisters and grandmothers taking practical action on climate change.

Every woman who joins 1 Million Women is asked to take the Carbon Challenge and cut as much pollution as possible from their life, with the aim of a net-zero carbon pollution way of living.

The Carbon Challenge consists of over 50 activities that cut carbon pollution and address climate change. It focuses on the choices we make every day, the products and services we spend our money on, and the behaviours we adopt.

Whilst many of us feel we are doing our part by signing a petition, or turning the lights off and doing other small things to reduce our impact, time is against us and the problem is not going away, it is getting worse.

That's why it is so important that we all band together and encourage as many other women as possible to jump on board and really commit to reducing their individual household's carbon emissions as much as possible.

If you'd like to take on the challenge and feel part of a movement that is growing to create positive change, then check out their website at www.1millionwomen.com.au

Till next time, happy carbon cutting...and having the bonus of reducing your electricity and gas bills at the same time!
